The Powerhouse

Pilates has over 500 exercises in its reptoire and every one of them focuses on using your lower abdominal muscles, the lower back and buttocks.  This grouping of muscles is referred to as "The Powerhouse".  In Pilates, you will learn to activate your Powerhouse properly and work from your center.  Once the Powerhouse is mastered, balance, strength and control are improved dramatically.

Beneficial for Everyone

Pilates appeals to the full spectrum of abilities, from elite athletes to the weak or injured. The exceptionally fit can learn how to use their bodies more efficiently, while strenghtening and working from their core, improving their ability in their individual sports/activities.  Weaker individuals who require strengthening can do so safely and in alignment, allowing for progression in Pilates and in health.
