What is Fascia?

Fascia is your connective tissue, which is the most influential structure in your body affecting your flexibility. Fascia covers your joints, ligaments, tendons, muscles and bones. Age, trauma, injuries, poor posture and inadequate training can distort, twist and tighten the fascia. This can cause pain and discomfort in joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments and discs. Changes to the fascia can cause major and minor imbalances in strength, speed, flexibility, balance and agility to name a few.

What can Fascial Stretch Therapy do for you?

Stretching that is performed properly can:

  • - Reduce or eliminate back problems and pain
  • - Increase overall flexibility
  • - Increase strength
  • - Enhance one’s physical fitness
  • - Reduce or eliminate joint stiffness
  • - Reduce muscular tension and soreness
  • - Increase balance and symmetry of the body
  • - Improve posture
  • - Promote physical and mental relaxation
  • - Improve circulation

Stretching Therapy

Overview

Fascial Stretch Therapy is assisted stretching with the client on a treatment table using comfortable straps to stabilize the limb or part of the body that is not being worked on. This facilitates complete relaxation of the person being stretched and enhances the effectiveness of the actions of the Facial Therapist. The stretching is pain-free and relaxing.
